Bioware manages to screw Illum (Open World PvP) Up further
  • A little bit amusing, a little bit frustrating, I feel for the Republic players I do! This is a bad scene for BioWare right now.

    http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=1790513#edit1790513

In Short: Imps are farming NPCs (Turrets) for Valor by the 100s, while most servers have a 5:1 or higher Imp:Rep ratio, Reps can not do anything about it. Spawns are being camped, low level people can go there, and also farm Valor etc. They fixed Base trading though... haha
  • Yeah it's a difficult thing to balance with such faction imbalances. They should implement a queue for Ilum, disable intrafaction huttball, and enable free Imperial->Republic character transfers to see if it helps balance the population before re-opening it as a World PvP zone.
  • This is at the spawnpoint. As far as I know once republic goes to Ilum there is no way to get their characters off the planet

  • Yeah, I'm not sold on the 'open world pvp'. With server imbalances, you need to control the number of people.

Would they change the Warzones so it was always 8 vs 2?
  • I'd be soo vexxed if I got to Illum, and I couldnt get off to at least go do something else!
  • Also, the empire controlling all the turrets yields ridiculous valor, for example a guy afk'd his alt next to a tower at Rank 1 valor, and in 6 hours is now Rank 60 valor. edit: maybe afking by repub spawn

I hope they rollback valor for today somehow, as this is simply worsening the divide between Imperial and Republic, because now everyone in imperial can be decked out in battlemaster
  • well you dont magically just get Battlemaster gear from having a 60 valor, but they definitly get a head start at getting BM gear drops, since you cant open the BM Boxes until you're lvl 60 valor.
  • I don't understand how this could even be fun for imperial. Spawn camping never made sense to me either though.

It's also reminds me of old Warcraft with Alliance vs Horde. On Feathermoon we'd (Horde) rock the bg's but they could raid our cities with near impunity due to sheer numbers.
  • Razlus said: could even be fun

This has nothing to do with fun.

This has everything to do with the rewards and phat lootz.
  • Considering the robust stories and companion system (among other things) I'm not sure a Imp->Rep conversion is realistic.
It's too bad the numbers are so imbalanced.
  • Time for everyone to re-roll in the Super Jedi Best Friends! For the Republic!
  • this is a big enough issue, they are apparently patching the servers mid day today.
  • yeah I was just about to post:
All #SWTOR game servers will be offline from approx 10:15AM CST (4:15PM GMT; 5:15PM CET) for 4 hours for an important patch.
