IMHO it all comes down to this one thing (and this is coming from a RIM fan epi, you know that)
If RIM's BB10 phones aren't game changing the company probably is done for. All the cash in the bank in the world isn't going to save a company if no one wants to buy their stuff. PERIOD

Or they simply switch business models and continue on in a different role. You're forgetting that they do more than simply hardware, which accounts for a large portion of their revenue. If they simply work to continue to improve the BES service, start to offer it across multiple platforms and take the support contracts for them, I'm guessing they could survive. Its difficult to make money off of hardware these days.
At this point i don't think simply refocusing the company is enough. They have taken such a beating in public perception, and that's killed them in the markets. Refocusing would probably be viewed as a weak play by investors and the stock will continue to free fall.
IMHO (my opinion) a blockbuster is needed, or RIM might as well start looking for a buyer.
